Our main goal is to provide support and guidance to students experiencing sudden difficulties and unexpected challenges that impede their academic success and well-being.
How do we provide that support and guidance?
We’re knowledgeable about university policy, procedure, and our myriad resources. We can guide you towards the people, places, etc. that are tailored to your specific, difficult situation.
Our office strives to make our large and complex university system feel much more manageable, smaller and connected.
We collaborate with you to create a holistic action plan to move forward, step by step. We seamlessly connect you with resources that can best assist, curating the network necessary to navigate the problem.

Who does We Care help?
We Care works with any Northeastern University student, regardless of location or level of study, if they encounter a challenge that may impede their ability to move forward academically. Our team works with Northeastern students at all global campuses, global experiences, and student levels.

We Care is a great resource for complex challenges spanning multiple areas of life. If you need assistance determining next steps or figuring out what resources are available to you, please reach out.
Is We Care a confidential resource?
We Care staff makes every effort to keep student information private, but we will share information on a need-to-know basis. Additionally, we are mandated reporters. Click here to read more about mandated reporters and what we are required to report.
Around how long does it take for We Care to get back to me?
The office strives to get back to folks within 2-3 business days (48-72 hours).
Is We Care an emergency response office?
No, if you are experiencing an emergency, please call NUPD at 617-373-3333. The We Care Office is available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.

Our Team
Keyne Cahoon, M.ED.
Director
A professional in the field of Student Affairs for more than 25 years, Keyne (she/her) earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Trinity College in Hartford and her Master’s in Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. After working at several local institutions in several positions within residential life and housing, she joined the Northeastern community in September 2005 as an Assistant Director of Residential Life.
Keyne joined the We Care office in 2013 as the Associate Director and has not looked back! She prides herself on the relationships she and her team have built as they greatly aid in the delivery of a holistic approach to student success. In her current role as Director, Keyne focuses on higher level student challenges and concerns that are referred to the office and works to coordinate ongoing support and resource management. Outside of Northeastern, Keyne has been involved with several local and national organizations, including serving in elected positions on various executive boards. She has presented at many conferences locally, regionally and nationally on a variety of topics.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, coaching soccer, watching television and loves spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Maggie Loscuito, M.ED.
Associate Director
Often known for decorated office(s) and changing hair colors, Maggie’s (she/her) goal has always been to help those she meets with whatever challenges they are facing. She is a Double Husky of Northeastern and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before shifting gears and getting a Master’s in Education in Higher Education. With fourteen years of Higher Education experience and a couple of years in the non-profit world, Maggie was excited to join the We Care team in 2021. Maggie has worn many hats at Northeastern and been an academic advisor, co-led the Peer Tutoring Program, and has been a longtime instructor for the Explore Program. She believes in asking questions and passing along what you know to help the next person. When she is not working, Maggie is spending time with her dog, Lilo (whose photos you can see all over her office). She also loves makeup, movies, $1 oyster nights, and water parks.
Kelly Tyman, B.S.
Assistant Director
Kelly (she/her) joined the We Care team in 2023 as Assistant Director. She grew up in MA and received a BS in Psychology with a minor in Hispanic Studies from Boston College. Prior to NU, Kelly worked at MIT and the University of Colorado, among other educational and social services settings. Kelly is excited to work with the Northeastern community as a trusted resource to help guide, brainstorm, and collaborate. She spends her time outside of work walking her dog, listening to audiobooks, playing with clay, attending exercise classes, and exploring the outdoors.
Brianna Burk, M.ED.
Assistant Director
Brianna (she/her) joined the We Care team in January of 2020 and is now the Assistant Director in the office. She has been a higher education professional for 7 years and obtained a BA in Political Science from Merrimack College and an MA in Higher Education Administration from Suffolk University. Brianna’s passion for Student Affairs in grounded in equity and access to Higher Education for students. With an interest and focus on providing We Care services to our global campuses, Brianna began working at our Roux campus in Portland, Maine in September of 2022 and can meet with Boston students remotely. Outside of work you can find Brianna at a spin class, yoga class, hiking, or gushing over her pit mix- Stevie.
